SLEEPING

Pics- Budda , Elephant bathing, a sweet 20" on the streets of Chiang Mai Thailand.

So its been a hectic few weeks, hence no posts- first off I hit the South Island for a week, then headed for Thailand for 2 weeks with the missus.
Thailand is super sweet for a visit, heaps of culture, the people are rad, food is awesome, beaches are mint, and best of all its really cheap, oh and theres tonnes of cheap fake stuff to buy too.
There are a few outlet stores of factories that sell some pretty sweet threads too, from mint flannel checked shirts for about 5 bucks or less to Zoo York tees, generally seconds but sometimes fakes for 5-10 bucks a pop, good times!
All in all a sweet couple of weeks, didnt really see any bmx related stuff unfortunately apart from a few flatland type guys in a park one night while driving past. I did see some pics of a sweet indoor wooden bowl at a skate shop but other than that it seemed not to exist.

PAUL LANGLANDS

Paul Langlands sent me some photos the other day of him completely destroying his jumps.. check that one handed super man...! Blam!
Paul was saying the jumps might be getting torn down some stage soon so he is thinking about having a small jam out there, Ill let you guys know if he does.



I have just updated the Bowl-a-rama flyer, Etnies and Fox have been kind enough to help out so hopefully we will have some prizes from them on the day. Also I just got word that Redbull is also going to help out which is rad! So the Hummer will be there for sounds and the Redbull girls for... arhh drinks I guess.

REVOLUTION BIKES

NEW QUEENSTOWN PARK

I just got an email from Devin Parker, a local Queenstown rider who sent in some photos of the new Queenstown park. Here's what he had to say:

Alrighty after ripping down a perfectly good concrete skatepark and an amazing 6ft plywood mini ramp stage one of the new queenstown skatepark is finally open to ride!

its a "plaza" style park with NO transitioned ramps at all what so ever!!!

work has also started on the 9ft "swimming pool" style bowl with pool coping so at least we have something to look forward to..

most of the park consists of ledges and hard to get to obstacles with jersey barriers at either end of the park.

the park has a very interesting design and it seems not a very well thought out plan with not much flow/lines etc.

plus the entire park seems to be on a slight slope (good for skating one way?)

i got a chance to ride it for the first time yesterday with Raine and it looks like a cool park to ride but we found it hard to get stoked on...

but at the end of the day (and not having had a park in town to ride since last november) we are stoked to finally have somewhere to ride.

and if there is a new park getting built in your town get involved!

BOWL-A-RAMA

On the Saturday the 5th of July me and Kirk from Volucid have organized a jam/comp and BBQ at Lynnfield Bowl. Its going to be a pretty mellow event but should be allot of fun, and a good way to spend a day before the weather starts to get really bad and we cant ride at all. So come along and have fun... there will prizes, food to eat and so on. If you don't know where lynnfield bowl is check out the map sbelow, along with the flyer and a photo of the bowl. Lynnfield is a crazy oldschool bowl thats fast with lots of vert, so should make for a rad jam.



The bowl is located in Lynnfield Reserve, off The Avenue, Auckland. You'll find it , it ain't hard!

BIKES

Louis Bolter sent me in a bike check of his brand new whip that WeThePeople hooked up for him, its looking pretty tight, he deserves it to, did you see that bars to foot jam on volucid, that shit ain't easy. Click on that banner to your right to view it.

In other bike related news I found these photos while browsing around the web. Basically its one guy who makes all his own very trick custom parts and frames. This particular bike is a race bike.. but still pretty sick. The integrated seat clamp design is amazing, unfortunately I forgot the name of the guy/company though.. sorry.

NEW BITS AND PIECES

Well as you can see once again I have decided to change the site around. Nothing major, I just wanted a change and wanted it to look nice, clean and simple.

In other news I just got the word that a bunch of new WeThePeople parts have arrived in NZ and will be available in stores soon..... The best place to get parts from in NZ at the moment is probably Revolution, I know allot of people out there mail order, but its nice to support local shops once in a while, haha.
