Here is a bunch of photos I pulled of my computer of Tim, some of them date back maybe 6 years, and most of them are taken at his local parks he rode the most, Whakatane, Raglan and Melville Hamilton. Check out the photo of him on his legendary side-hack, and the one fresh after he knocked his teeth out at the 'another chance of death' comp trying to pedal grind the 12 stair hand rail.. Tim was definitely the king of good times and shredding!!
I'm pretty sure Lester has a bunch of good photos of Tim too, in fact I know he does, so hopefully he post them!!
R.I.P TIM HALES **UPDATE BELOW** TIM HALES T's
Monday, September 22, 2008
For those of you who knew Tim.. we have lost a great friend.. so many good memory's of amazing guy .. ride on Tim.. we will truly miss you and will never forget you!!
OFFICIAL TIM HALES T's..
We are getting some Tim Hales T-Shirts made to celebrate his life. As you can tell by the amount of comments below Tim was one of the raddest guys ever, on and off his bike. We thought it would be a great way to show your support for his family and to have something to remember him by. We're selling the T's for $35 each, and the money is going to go to his family or the Whakatane SPCA (Tim loved cats). We have only got a limited amount printed at the moment because it's all we could afford. If we run out we'll get some more printed. So if you want one send me an email at zombie.bmx@gmail.com.
Special thanks to Haimona for coming up with the design, Tim White and the Wazman for pitching in to get them printed.
Also please note that they are avaliable in Grey and Purple. Not black as shown below.
Below is a little video Louis Bolter put together of Tim riding.. It was filmed only last week in Melbourne.
Here is the officialflyer for the Local Assault Jam which is happening on the 1st of November at Washington Park, Christchurch. Travis from EDH is organizing the event, he's put allot of hard work and effort in and its going to be fun as hell.. cant wait! If your looking fro a cheap flight down keep and eye on grab-a-seat, there has been some cheap prices come up on there.
I found this photo kicking around on my computer and thought I would post it because I kinda like the black and whiteness.. Brian Anzellotti whipping at the PMP jam a while ago.
BRAND NEW SECOND HAND
Thursday, September 18, 2008
I just got a new ride together after riding my old frame and fork for ages (and finding cracks in the fork!) I managed to get my hands on some second hand gear and built up this one with a few of my old bits. Only ridden it properly once, and so far so good... Thanks to Sam at RevolutionNZ for the frame, fork and bars, and Mike Davies for the cranks....Rad.
Mr Tim White who is a good friend of mine is opening a Bike shop in Auckland in the next few months called T Whites Bikes.. the shop is going to sell a mixture of bikes like cruisers and fixed gear bikes but is going to focus mainly on being a dedicated BMX shop. Tim has worked in the bike industry for 10 years including working in BMX shops in Canada and working at Woodward, and he's been riding BMX for even longer and still shread's too this day... so he is the perfect guy to run a shop in Auckland.
His shop is opening sometime in November and will be located at 132 Symond St, which is a great location because it is very central and is a short ride from Vic Park. Anyway Ill keep you all update when I find out more news about T.Whites.Bikes.
I caught up with Jed today at Vic Park.. He is in Auckland for a BMX demo at the supergroove concert, so if you going to that your sure to see some killer riding. For now here is a few photos Jed sent me.. Thanks Jed and thanks to Tom Franks who took the pics!
GOOD BYE AOTEA SQUARE
Thursday, September 11, 2008
You may have already heard but the fountain at Aotea Square is going... Its really sad to see this thing go, its been apart of Aucklander BMXers for years, its been in plenty of magazines and has been shredded by pros from all over the world including some of the greatest like Ruben Alcantara. Its proberbly NZ most famous street spot... we will miss you!
In other news head over to revolutionnz.com there curently running a web video contest where you have the chance to win a $100 store voucher. Sounds rad, check it out.
Ive hooked Quietchaos up with a fresh FACEBOOK account so ad us as a friend if you're on there and keep up with the play..HERE.
Also- Ive recently changed the pricing on all Quietchaos jeans and tees to make them a bit more accesable to you filthy bmxers! The most popular DRIVER jean, perfect for riding is now available for $129.00 so go get some from RevolutionNZ or o2 Project.
Sounds like plans are coming together for a jam in Hamilton over Labour Weekend end of October.... details to come..
In other QC news - we'll be launching a new comp in the next couple of weeks so keep it locked here at ZOMBIE for more details to come.
Right, off to build my new bike... pics of that to come soon! Yes, Im excited
I meant to post this a while ago but have only just got around it.... opps! Anyway its a bunch of photos and news from our friend at true bmx in Wanaka. The first two photos are of Wanaka skatepark, James from Ture BMX is on the skate park committee and at the moment there in the process of getting some major additions to the park, the additions are going to be absolutely huge.. for example reefton is 2100sq meters an wanakas going to be just under 3000sq meters!!! f@#k!!! and apparently there pushing towards the lines of 10 and 8ft deep bowels and snake runs! (whats the f@#k is wrong with auckland city council!). Wanaka is also getting a new Jump Park and the locals are working on a set of privatetrails which is rad. And also Lake Hawea is also getting a brand new skate park... so its all go down south... there all ways seems to be a hand full of good reasons to go south.
Ivan from Redbull/Steady Rollin' sent this through to me.. its a flyer a for the 'Council Of Doom' movie premier. Your probably wondering what the hell 'Council Of Doom' is.... well its a fixed gear thing... and I know this is a BMX site, but I also know there is a bunch of BMXers out there who would be keen to check this out so I thought it was worth a post!! It should be interesting.... and when Redbull is involved in anything it usually turns out to be a hell of allot of fun!!
I just got a email from Travis at edhbmx.com about there latest product, the 'tight bars' which should be available here in NZ in a month or so, for more info head over the to edh site or check the advert on the right.
In other news Jono Hopping is now riding for volucid.com which is rad, because Jono is good!
And believe it or not but prophecybmx.blogspot.com is up and running again!! so check that out for plenty of photos and updates from the Rotorua riders.

Paul Beadle sent me an email the other day with a bunch of photos of him and the rest of the kiwi guys over in Vancouver shredding. Some of these photos where already posted up on www.volucid.com but I thought I might as well post them up here as well.

I just got a copy of the new 2020 magazine and its looking amazing, it should be available in NZ over the next few weeks, It doesn't have as much NZ content in it this time as other issues, but does feature a nice little interview with the guys from Revolution. Speaking of Revolution the new Rebelyell Mag is out, and at the moment and Revolution is the only store in NZ to have it stocked!
In other news I'm currently working on a few things for the site. A features archive should be up soon along with an all new team page. Also there is word of a BMX jam happening in Hamilton soon.. Ill keep you posted on that! peace!
Copper from Focal Point Mag sent me an email to let me know that the new issue is now available online, which is rad seen as the mag is hard to get a hold of here in NZ. Click on the link below, its a super good issue and worth the read!
