CAMBRIDGE JAM

The Cambridge Jam went down on Saturday, Paul Langlands pritty much one of the only riders that could rip the park up, its seriously badly built, lumpy ramps, almost like an obstical course.
It was a fun old day for every one who showed up to the Jam. I ventured off under the high pass bridge to find a sweet wall ride. The day was hot so me and Dan M. went out to the lake for some flip training to cool off.
Sunday afternoon = a good jam down at Mellvill, Jordie boosting the hip with moto whips followed by Sean doing a precision Smith down the handrail.

GEORGE = REDBULL

This might be slightly old news now by now but for those of you who didn't know Geroge Bolter is officially sponsored by Redbull.

DIRTY SOUTH

So Ive been pretty slack with the updates but some of you will have seen me out on my travels. Ive just got back from 10 days in the south island, doing some work for Quietchaos and riding bikes. Highlights were the new Queenstown MONSTER bowl (sorry no pics) it makes Melville in Hamilton look like childs play, riding awesome trails in a place (that is to be kept secret but check the pic below to get amped for some digging!), hitting the Dunedin park, heaps of people hate on this place but I dig the old school bowl, not the prettiest thing but its fun all the same, then of course the Shredathon jam in Wanaka and lots of riding with the Christchurch crew, and a bunch of other southerners, oh and Michael from Belgium tore it up in NZs funnest bowls.
All in all a sweet trip and some good times, thanks to James (trubmx) for organising the jam and giving me a place to stay!
Here are some pics:

pics: top- the secret spot. 2nd row l to r: Dan boosting in the mini ramp, Asher airing and Robbie chillin, Wanaka park, Asher Vader, Asher Look back, RevolutionNZ Sam whipping, Michael boosting, bottom row - Michael chilling, and Michael boosting again.

I shot a bunch of video over the few days in Wanaka so keep an eye out for that in the next week.

oh yeah, I just stole a link to a News Paper story from the RevolutionNZ site HERE

BUTCHERS BASH

Last weekend some of the Hamilton crew that wasn't already drinking Barrel 51, followed up on a txt sent out by Jed Mildon to go to Butchers place and Crunk and ride Mini ramp at the flat before it has to be taken down (due to many complaints from the annoying nabours). So here are some of the photos I got of the weekend while I was stranded at Butchers with a dead phone, an EFTPOS card which I didnt know the number to, No food and but a working camera.

NEW FEATURE GALLERYS

Ive just added two new feature gallery's to the site, so check them out. The first one is from T Whites Bike shop opening, and the second from the EDH pre jam BBQ at Revolution.. which I must mention was fun as hell, nothing like a party with a bunch of rowdy bmxers, beers, BBQ's and mad hop's.

Old gallerys:

I'm of to Christchurch for a few days to chill and maybe sink some suds with the Revolution boys, so anyway there wont be any updates till early next week, but there is plenty of new posts below to check out.. stay rad!! and don't forget to have fun.. ride BMX!

HAWERA SKATEPARK

Troy Swan from Taranaki sent in a few photos of the nearly finished Hawera park, this park looks absolutely amazing and bowl looks like its going to be so much fun! The bowl varies from 5 - 7 foot and looks like its got a bit of an over vert capsule type thing going on? The street section of the park is going to be big too, packed with ledges and wedges. Troy also mentioned that the local riders and 02project are going to organize a jam there sometime this summer, ill keep you posted with more info on that.. should be a fun time!

Thanks for the photos Troy.

QTown Jump Park

Queenstowns Gorge Road jumps have had a reworking, looking to a mid-december opening. The most jumps in one spot in NZ, and it a public park! Get there!

THIS SHIT IS FUNNY

I stumbled across this on the other day and made me laugh so much. Basically its small YouTube clip a bunch of skateboarders form SF made mocking the hell out of the biggest trend at the moment, fixed gear riding. Its done really well and is definitely entertaining to watch.. I love the way they have there hats flipped up and one jean leg rolled up, ture fixed gear style.. so funny!.. and 'I feel so connected to my board'.. if you have ever watched anything about fixed gear riding they always go own about being fixed makes them feel so connected to the bike.. haha, anyway just thought it was hilarious and worth a watch..
If you don't know what fixed gear riding is check www.mashsf.com

MIKE AITKEN JAM - WANAKA

James from trubmx.blogspot.com has orgnized another jam at Wanaka Skate park, this time its to help raise funds for Mikey Atiken. As most of you know Aitken went down pretty hard riding trails and ened up in hospital in critical condition, apperantly hes doing pretty well now but still needs as much support as possible. We all know and love him fro his amazing riding style, so if you can make the jam please do and show your support for Aitken. for more info on Aitken check out mikeaitken.com

I was going to do a big update with some photos from he Local Assault jam but turns out I've run out of web space, ill try and get it sorted tomorrow.

TOTALLY AWESOME

The EDH Jam took place on the weekend just been and I can honestly say it was a totally awesome event!!! Christchurch really turned it on for all the BMXers who made it down from all country, the weather was great, Washington skate park was rad and the party's where super fun. There was a bunny hop comp outside the Revolution shop the night before the jam which was fun as hell... it got pretty messy though, its was definitely fun to watch Jono from Thames throw him self around the foot path. The revolution shop was amazing, what a rad shop, packed with BMX goodies and rider owned, what more could you ask for! Travis from EDH did an amazing job at organizing the event. Cheers Travis.. everyone had a killer time!

I have a bunch more photos from the Jam and the Bunny Hop comp to post sometime this week but for now here's a few:

Photos in order are:
1- Jono going crazy at the Revolution hop comp.
2- Robbie Brown was the home town hero and killed it all day with endess tricks and style - 180 Bars of the ledge.
3- Jed Mildon was riding amazing as per usual and one of many dialed tricks he did on the day was this Flair on the super tight bowl corner.
4- That Kane O'hagen guy is f#@king crazy and definitely good on a bike - 360 of the rail and out of the park! (is o'hagen his last name??)

H-TOWN JAM PHOTOS

Its a week late but whatever.. I just finished putting together a gallery of photos from the 'jam in the ham', click the banner to your right to view them. Photos where taken by H-Town local Ryan MaCrae, Ryan's photos are killer every time, thanks for sending them in Ryan, and Thanks to everyone who turned up to the event, even though it rained we all managed to have a fun as hell time. Skids and bunny hops, what more could you ask for!
