      SALE AT HH ONEHUNGA PHOTOS FROM GEORGE Sunday, June 28, 2009 George Bolter is living and riding in Canada at the moment.. enjoy some amazing weather and some of the worlds best skate parks. He sent in a bunch of photos for us to enjoy as we suffer through this wet NZ winter. He looks like he is having a great time.. and definitely getting pretty rad over there on the BMX.

D1NZ - JAM Friday, June 26, 2009 On the 14-15th of August there is going to be a BMX jam / Comp at the D1NZ event in Whangarei. There's going to have a pretty good street set up with lots of ramps and obstacles. Its going to be pretty causal jam with a Best Trick and High Jump Comp.... The deal is you need a pass to be able to get into the event and ride the course. So if your keen to ride on the day and think you can make it what you need to do is get a hold of Steve Demon at sales@holywater.co.nz and let him know your keen to ride, he will organize your name to be on the gate and an event pass. This is going to be a pretty fun event so get on it and get your name down.
There is also going to be plenty of other things going on during the day.. obviously drifting but there also will be FMX.. and ahh Bikini Girls.. Rad! The jam is going to take place in Christchurch in November.. so you have plenty of time to work out how to get down there. If its anything like last years event it will definitely be worth the trip.    www.quietchaos.co.nz STAFFORD UPGRADE Wednesday, June 24, 2009 Just got word that Stafford Ramp in Auckland is getting an upgrade very soon. Check the pic.. looks rad as hell!
 The person I got the word from said only rules are no under coping tricks and once you fall off your turn is over, haha! Anyway should be fun to ride.. Ill keep you posted as the upgrades begin. And for those of you who don't know where Stafford Ramp is.. its the one on the left hand side of the motorway as you head towards Takapuna after the bridge. SUBROSA FIXED Mike from Triple Six Distro sent thought his photo of the new Subrosa Fixed Gear Bike. I don't usually post Fixed Gear content.. but seen as this is a BMX company I thought I would. Mike was luckily enough to receive one of the very first samples made world wide and test it out... Its a pretty straight forward clean design, 4130 tubing and all that jazz! and of course Subrosa styling similar to there BMX's. If your not into the whole fixed gear thing, just slap a free wheel on this and imagine how fun it would be to coast from bar to bar.
 WHO'S GOT THE HOPS Monday, June 22, 2009 REDBULL BUNNY HOP COMP -WELLINGTON
 Justin from Red Bull Special Ops and Wellington shredder Luke McCombie ran a bunny hop comp on the weekend just been out side the Mac's Brewery on the water front. Nate Scott won the comp with a hop of 41-1/2 inch's.. that's pretty huge! Luke McCombie came in 2nd, Timmy Hutchinson and Tim Wilson where third. Check out the photos below.. looks like a fun time.          Props to RedBull & Luke for putting on the event, and thanks to Caleb from Spoke for sending in the photos.   There has been officially RedBull hop comps in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch now, maybe its time to organize a National Hop Comp!   Tim Hales and Dave Struthers R.I.P REVOLUTION Thursday, June 18, 2009 Some of you may or may not already know but Revolution closed their doors this week.
Sam, Nate & Ben did an amazing job at running New Zealand's only Rider Owned BMX 100% Shop. It's a shame to see it go as it was responsible for so many amazing things in New Zealand BMX, they supported the scene hugely by getting involved with nearly every BMX jam, sponsoring a handful of riders, travelling up and down the country promoting BMX, doing tons of giveaways and most importantly creating what has never been done before... a BMX only shop. It's a sad for NZ BMX to see them go... on behalf of all the BMXers out there I would like to thank the guys at Revolution to putting everything they had into something they believed in, and creating something that has never been done before. Respect!! You guys did an amazing job while it lasted... and I'm sure your shop will be missed throughout the BMX community.    Q-TOWN PARK Wednesday, June 17, 2009 I seem to be doing a bunch of Skate Park related post latly.. so why not one more. Not sure if I have posted these photos in the past but this is the new QueensTown park which is look pretty nice. Definitely looking forward to having a ride on this sometime this winter.. if its not snowed in that is?

       GOD SAVE AUCKLAND CITY - ANOTHER S@#T PARK DESIGN Monday, June 15, 2009 Apparently this is the purposed plan for a new Skate Park in Kingsland Auckland.

MORE SCRAP FOOTAGE Paul Gerlich sent in another scrap footage vimeo clip left over from his new video 'Undergroud'.
Paul said the new DVD is pretty much finished, he's just tidying up the final touches then its off to get duplicated. So keep tuned for more news on how to get a hold of the video and when it will be available. Also word is the release party will be in early August, possibley followed a Jam at Waikanae park. Keep up the good work Paul.. the video is going to be Killer! MANGAWHAI PARK VIDEO Here is a fly through animation I found on You Tube of the concept for the Mangawhai Skate park. The design looks even more amazing in this clip than in the concepts drawings I posted earlier. Lets hope they go through with the design.
In other news the Owairaka Skate Park in Mt Albert is apparently finished.. Word on the street is there is no Bike aloud! F$@k that I pay my rates & Taxes.. I'm going to shred the hell out of that park! See you there... WANAKA SKATEPARK UPDATE Saturday, June 13, 2009 James from TruBMX sent me through an email with the final design for the Wanaka Skate Park upgrade. Check out the design, the park looks truly amazing.
The plans have had the complete go ahead, council approval and consent, all that needs to be done now is a whole bunch of fund raising. If you can help out in anyway possible please let James know! He is the owner of Forgotten Bikes but what you may not know is that he has one of the worlds best collections of Vintage Haro's.. I thought it was worth a post because some of those old Haro's look pretty gnarly, and it definitely makes you appreciate the quality of bikes we ride today.

    NEWS FOR WELLINGTON Monday, June 8, 2009 I just got an email from local Wellington rider Thomas with some news about what hes been up to.. Thomas is now working for the Wellington City Council and is helping build parks and playgrounds. He project manages one new skate park every 2 years.. which is pretty rad! Below is a few photos of his current projects.. The skate lite reply of Island Bay mini and the new Kaori mini he is working on. Wellington riders a pretty lucky to have a rider working an building parks for the council, making sure a good job gets done.

Dirt Bike Co is a New Zealand BMX company which has just recently finished the first prototype of there frame. I don't know allot about this new company yet, but hopefully more information surfaces soon. I do know that they are Auckland based, they are aiming for production of this frame late June early July, and so far the frame looks very clean and dialed. Also the Dirt Bike Co web page is in development at the moment. FLY BIKES I don't usually post non NZ BMX related content.. but I kinda feel like a change so I though I would post something about FlyBikes. I have always been a big fan of Fly Bikes, I think they are very clean, dialled company, they have a killer team, I have had the privilege of meeting and riding with the owner a few times while he lived in NZ and he is a super nice guy. I also think they are one of the few company's out there really pushing the development of BMX parts.. and creating there own unique parts that are different to any other company.
